Broughton Festival of Beer – 27th  – 30th  September 2018

Pubs in Broughton

There are several venues for the festival centring on Broughton-in-Furness. At Least 90 Real ales available throughout the Festival with pubs in the Broughton district will be open all day (full list of venues: http://wp.broughtonfestivalofbeer.org.uk/venues-2018/). Buses will be running between some of the venues. Some venues will start on Wednesday 26th September 2018.

 

Emsworth Beer Festival – 28th – 30th September 2018

Emsworth Community Centre

More than 30 ales on tap including several national winners from this year’s CAMRA Great British Beer Festival. Emsworth’s Beer, Cider, and Wine Festival returns for the third year running on September 28.

The festival is taking place at Emsworth Community Centre with evening sessions from 6pm on the Friday and Saturday and a whole-day session during the day on Saturday. Tickets are £10. The Sunday session runs from 12pm-4pm and admission is free. Visit www.wegottickets.com  to buy tickets.

 

St Albans Beer & Cider Festival – 26th – 29th September 2018

Alban Arena, St Albans, AL1 3LD

The festival will have approximately 300 – 350 cask beers available over the week from small micros to large regional breweries.

Wednesday

7pm: opening ceremony with the Mayor of St Albans

Launch of the Mad Squirrel and Toast Ales collaboration beer

Thursday

Farr Brew launch of their hop collective beer
12.00  – 15.00 local landlords and local dignitaries judge beer of the Festival
18.00 Balcony Seating overlooking the main hall opens.  Grab a pint and a seat to watch the evenings band The Landlord’s in comfort.  Includes John Cusworth landlord of the award winning CAMRA pub the Mermaid in St Albans. And yes they’ll be wearing Timothy Taylor Landlord shirts!
19.00 onwards  Reps and Sales managers from Oakham Ales will  serving in the Balcony Bar.  The session includes a meet the brewer.
19.00  onwards Reps and Sales managers from Timothy Taylor’s bar will be serving on this year’s Festival’s new bar in the stairwell – any questions regarding  Timothy Taylor beers?  Their staff will be there willing to answer your questions.
19.30  Judging for the Herts Beer of the Year competition with CAMRA members from the branches in Herts.
21.00pm Local band the landlords including John Cusworth landlord of the Mermaid will be appearing and performing rock and pop covers from top bands and artists.

Friday

13.00 Afternoon and evening  book signing with Ricky Barnett – a new book of photographs of the pubs of St Albans and District.
19.30  Launch from the stage of the winning beer of the Hertford Home Brew Club.  “Bring your daughters to the Porter”.  Beer brewed on Tring Brewery plant.
20.45 Breweriana auction

Saturday

All day Book signing with Ricky Barnett at Products Stand – a new book of photographs of St Albans and District pubs
13.00 Swan Vesta Social Club on stage.  UK’s top Anglo Cuban Band.
13.30 Quiz – Top prizes include a firkin of beer courtesy of Oakham Ales and £50.00 worth of vouchers for the Tring Brewery.
14.30 Judging of the East Anglia Strong Ale of the Year with young members and other CAMRA members
16.30 – 17.30ish – a tour of the Festival for Young CAMRA members with Roger Protz

20.15 Breweriana Auction from the main stage
21.00  Band the Overtures – the world’s finest tribute act* take to the stage.
            * the band have played after show parties with Elton John, Paul McCartney amongst others.

A book signing with Roger Protz of his own books will happen at the Products stand at some point.

 Greene King are hosting a Cask and Craft Beer Festival from September through to November throughout their pubs.

Thwaites are hosting a mini beer festival throughout their pubs.

One-day festival – Saturday 23rd September

The New Inn, Newport are having a one-day festival featuring at least 25 cask ales all on offer at the same time.


Bedford Beer and Cider Festival – 3-6 October

Corn Exchange St Paul’s Square, Bedford MK40 1SL

 North Bedfordshire CAMRA are hosting the Bedford Beer and Cider Festival. There will be 160 different cask ales available in Bedford Corn Exchange! This is the biggest event of the year for North Bedfordshire CAMRA
