How to use Twitter/Facebook
Twitter is essentially a series of updates, called 'Tweets'. You can link up with other people on there and let them know what events you have on during National Cask Ale Week.
Join the site by logging on to www.twitter.com
Choose a username, such as the name of your pub or brewery, so people can find you easily.
Under settings, on the top right hand side there are a series of buttons where you can let people know a little bit about yourself, add a picture and input the address of your website. This will help to attract people to your site.
Keep things light, simple and fun.
Once you are up and running, link up with people on there by using the find people button. A great place to start is http://twitter.com/caskaleweek, where you can keep updated on everything National Cask Ale Week is planning. The more people you follow the more will reciprocate by following you.
Keep people updated on your activity by updating the blank box at the top of the page. This will then appear in the feed of everyone who is following you.
Something like, "The hare and Hounds is planning on hosting free ale tasting sessions on March 31st to celebrate National Cask Ale Week" would work well. Keep the updates short with less than 140 characters and keep them regular, people will stop looking and visiting if there is no new information.
